I made something similar with this device. you basically put the weed in and poke it down around this stick. Then you remove the stick and there's a hole inside.
It took me about 3h to smoke this tiny little cigar thing. it was dense. I wrapped it in weed leaves and coated with warm live resin to stick them down. waited 2 months to smoke it, left it sitting in a jar and burped it every so often. once the leaves were brown, I smoked it.
tasted great. but i'd never do it again, more of a fun project than anything. It sure was fun.
