I would be careful if im being honest biggas! The last two sessions of strikes I've had orders with special delivery and I could see on the tracking that nothing happened during the strike days, literally happened these last 2 days aswell so although they say they deliver as many special deliveries as they can unfortunately in reality its not very many. It's very annoying to pay an extra £10 or so deliberately to avoid the strikes only to have to wait 4 days for your bud lol and you can't be mad at the vendor cause its not their fault either its just an unfortunate reality of the strikes. Im not even mad at the strikers im just saying the best thing to do is keep updated on the strikes and try to keep stocked up for the relevant days. Good luck biggas stay high!

I did try to keep updated. Ordered on the 29th and suddenly they announced they would strike on the 30th and 1st.

When I was trying to order before the 13th. Utter joke imo.

At this point I'd be happy if Amazon created Amazon Mail.

😳 I’ve delivered on strike days and never had any delays when using special delivery 😭 but I DEFINITELY agree that all biggas should stay up to date on the strike days:

It probably depends on where its posted and where its delivered. I had a special delivery land on friday (postie moaning that it was the only post he had for the whole village!), so would agree with the OP but obviously could be different in different areas.

And so far out of nearly 100 orders there have only been 3 delays 🥺 but I cannot guarantee next day delivery 100% because of Royal Mail strikes 😭

Do you offer any other options other than NDD? If not, why not? I don’t necessarily need NDD and it would be nice to have an option that isn’t. A lot of vendors don’t use NDD and I don’t really like having to pay extra for a service I don’t want.
Also, NDD is gonna put strain on an already overloaded service. How about offering free delivery at second class. Any thoughts?

Can't speak for this vendors reasoning but mainly it's due to the tracking.

Sending second class has no way of telling if the pack arrives. In a dispute the vendor will always lose out. No way to tell if it was truly sent or truly arrived.

Hi Strainsburys, it sounds to us like you are just putting more kerosene on the fire because if they don't get their items within that time frame it's highly likely the Biggas's are going to get even pissed when even though they paid for the special it's still caught up in the picket fence.

Why not have an alternative? another option for Biggas a competitor who has geared up and has seen the opportunity in front of them and has tested the alternative and realizes in this modern world it is possible for a private courier company to deliver in 1 day its just having the operation that is capable of pulling it off.

We only do special delivery and some days they don't make it the next day.
Royal mail are all over the place at the moment.

The real reason to the strikes is cause our government doesn't have the money to pay over 100,000 workers a few weeks leave money until they fix up the train tracks. So instead of paying all these workers leave they instead let the unions have their strikes. The outcome from all of it will be postal workers will not get wat they want as in pay rises. This is where our government is pushing for automanous systems.

Postmen don't operate in my area on strike days.
And 20 years of me delivering parcels for all the big companies says it could be iffy sending stuff by courier, but not impossible.
Patience and ordering well in advance is key ;)
