It's hard to get antibiotics of a doctor or even if you have toothache with waiting lists high. People have sold antibiotics down the bottom of the items page for years on here just not from this country.

I have experienced this first hand, family member with very bad cough (over a long period of time, impacting sleep and general well-being/health both physical and mental) and possible chest infection told to wait by a GP instead of having a possible treatment. This prolonging the agony of the individual. Eventually they were given said antibiotics but after an unpleasant and unnecessary wait IE made em jump through hoops. Pretty inhumane. Also wasn’t the vile health Secretary, Tory ratbag Coffey caught selling antibiotics on or admitting doing so?

Personally, I wouldn't buy antibiotics online. 1) My GP prescribes them w/o issues. 2) I hardly take antibiotics due to antibiotic resistance.

Amoxicillin is commonly prescribed as a first line of defence for a lot of infections, given it's broad spectrum.
If after a few days it's not helping, then a more precise antibiotic is likely required.

Saying this, I can imagine a lot of patients are either unable to get a GP appt, or simply even have a GP who doesn't like to prescribe antibiotics due to the current risk of antibiotic resistance.

Preppers may be another group of individuals who would want to stock antibiotics. However for the large part I think its mainly patients who either want to prep or have a little home stock incase of supply issues (Brexit and all that)

Personally I think 1 box would be enough especially the full strength 500mg Amoxicillin. Where I am if your lucky enough to get them prescribed from your GP. They either give you 7 day course of 250mg or 5 day Course of the 500mg 3 a day. . if I needed any ? Over prescribing antibiotics has destroyed our ability to respond effectively to a lot of bacterial threats, and we're running out of the few that still work effectively. There's no reason whatsoever for anyone in the UK to purchase antibiotics when they can get them through their GP, if needed.
